JEFFREY CHARLES JOHNSON, age 33, of Lafayette formerly of Lake Station, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was born on July 3, 1979 in Valparaiso and was a 1997 graduate of Edison High School. Jeff was an intelligent and thoughtful young man with a great sense of humor. He was a White Sox fan who also enjoyed camping, family get-togethers, softball and poker. Jeff was a member of NA and Surf Club in Lafayette. We will miss his witty personality and generous nature.
He is survived by his mother, Lauri (Ernie) Dodd of Chesterton; father, Jeffrey (Ann) Johnson of Rensselaer; sons, Gage Tyler, Hunter James and Jace Jeffrey; daughter, Addison Nicole; brothers, Justin (Charity) Johnson of Portage, Gregg Dodd of Chesterton; sisters, Heather (John) Wright of Portage, Brandi (Robert) Kriess of Portage; maternal grandparents, Betty and James Klassen of Lakeland, FL; paternal grandparents, Leroy and Carolyn Johnson of Valparaiso; aunts and uncles, Steven (Chris) Johnson of Valparaiso, Scott Johnson of Greenfield, Michael (Candy) Johnson of Valparaiso, Lynda (Jay) Hodges of Portage, James (Connie) Talmadge of Valparaiso, Jon (Michele) Talmadge of Valparaiso, Cindy Mangold of LaPorte, Lorrie Shei of Westville, girlfriend, Missy Davis of Lafayette; special friends, LaLena Good, Heather Alsop, and Jill Peters; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.
A funeral service for Jeff will be Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, with Rev. Duane Schmidt officiating.
