Jenny Glotzbach, age 85 of Hobart passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 31, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 17, 1927 in East Chicago. Jenny was married on May 7, 1949 to her loving husband, John for 53 years, who preceded her in death in 2003. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a devoted Catholic, starting each day with prayer and reciting the rosary. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Ladies Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed being together with the grandchildren, playing yahtzee, bunco, canasta and ten thousand. Jenny will be deeply missed by two daughters Kathy (Richard) Santos, Mary Beth (Jim) Lightfoot, two sons; Richard (Cindy) Glotzbach, George (Peggy) Glotzbach, Sister; Virginia (Robert) Gauger. Sister in Law's Mary Oblon, Nina (Don) Williams. Brother in Law's James (Delores) Glotzbach, David (Lorraine) Glotzbach, 10 grandchildren; Lisa (Rudy) Samano, Raul (Tammy) Santos, Vanessa (Todd) Lara, Tricia (Nick)Roper, Ricky (Meladi) Glotzbach , Meredith(Greg) Roberts, George (Lynn) Glotzbach, Jeremy (Stephanie) Glotzbach, Crystal (Steven) Peek and special granddaughter Rachel Lightfoot who helped take care of her in her final days.
19 Great grandchildren; Dustin, Drake, Niko, Noah, Richie and Ryan, Lexy, Abby, Maleri, Paityn, Logynn, Kenlei, Layla, Tyler, Ian, Aubrie, Evie, Lily and Holly Special God Son; Jimmy Oblon. Many special nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Catherine and Joseph Oblon, Brothers Julian (Anne) Oblon, Edwin (Joan) Oblon, Edward Oblon and Alfred Oblon. Granddaughter; Debra Glotzbach. In laws John and Irene Glotzbach. Brother in law George Glotzbach. She is now dancing happily with John in Heaven.
Funeral Services are Wednesday, September 5, 2012 beginning with 9:30 prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart and then proceeding to St Francis Xavier Church for 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Father David Kime celebrate the Mass. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 2:00- 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart chapel. 219-942-2109 or online at reesfuneralhomes.com.
