Jerome Shoppa, age 68, of Hobart, passed away Saturday November 28, 2015. He was born on January 5, 1947 to the late John and Mary (nee Kazmerski) Shoppa. Jerome was a member of the U.S. Army and served his country in Vietnam. He was a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church, and the Vietnam Vets #905, VFW #5365. Jerome loved spending time with his family, fishing in Minnesota, and bowling. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Jerome is survived by his loving wife Veralyn (nee Strouse) Shoppa of Hobart; two sons, Phillip (Tammy) Shoppa of Crown Point and Michael (April) Shoppa of Valparaiso; eight grandchildren, Justin Willis, Cindy Willis, Kaylee Shoppa, Alysa Shoppa, Alexandria Shoppa, Maryssa Shoppa, Tristin Pruznak and Ashlee Pruznak; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brooklyn, Bentley and Calli; brother, John (Greta) Shoppa of Florida and many other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Michelle Pruznak; two brothers, Frank and Joe Shoppa.
A funeral service for Jerome will take place Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11 am at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Indiana, 46342.
