Jerry Cyprian, age 76, of Portage, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Portage. He was born on   August 8, 1941 in Gary, Indiana to the late Pete and Mary (nee Kolarik) Cyprian. He proudly served his country as a sailor in the U.S. Navy. Jerry was a retired owner and operator of Trucking Company and served 12 years with the Gary Police Department. He was a graduate of Emerson High School He loved tinkering with cars, hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Jerry is survived by his loving family: six sons, Robert J. Elea, John Cyprian, Kevin (Janice) Cyprian, Peter Anthony (Connie) Cyprian, Jerry J. (Robyn) Cyprian and James C (Natalie) Cyprian; 11 grandchildren; Robert Elea, Chelsy, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Mason, Ashley, Austin, Katalina, Bailley, Levi and Greyson; brother, Peter Cyprian and sister, Karen Urbanek; numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Phil Cyprian and sister, June Little.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, IN, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Cremation will follow.
