Obituary

JERRY LEE ROGERS, age 66, of Lake Station, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014. He was born on June 3, 1947 to the late Viola and Howard Rogers. He served his country in the US Marines and had worked as security for the Portage Parks Dept. Jerry loved building classic racecars and putting them in the Fuzz Follies. He was a hard worker and a very caring person. Jerry was always taking care of people when he could. As Jerry would say, "Have a nice day."

Jerry is survived by his sister, Brenda (the late John) Oleska, nee Rogers; nieces and nephews, Amanda (John) Franklin, Almeda (Bob) Urycki, Angela (Kenny Munsey) Wright, Jessica (John) Hefty, Steve "Butch" Rogers, and Heather (Brian) Freeman; great nieces and nephews, Rachell, Johnathon, and Morgan Franklin, Bobby, Allison, and Sydney Urycki, Angelee Luick, Dalton and Dallas Munsey, Brandon, Emily and Savannah Hefty, Sierra, Hailey and Aubrey Freeman; great great nephew, Channing Keene; many close cousins; special friends, Jan Manning and family, Kris Corbeille, and the Moss Family; Red Rooster Gang and the guys at the car lots.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip, Howard "Dickey" and Steve Rogers.

A funeral service for Jerry will be Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Pastor John Hurt officiating.
