Jerry W. Shettles, age 64, of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at home. He was born on September 21, 1951 in Conway, Arkansas to the late John and Ava Shettles. He worked as a Locomotive Engineer for E J&E Railroad. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hobart.

Jerry is survived by his brother, Rick (fiancée Nancy Markovich) Shettles; niece, Stephanie Shettles; nephew, Jeremy Van Andle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ava Shettles; and one sister, Katherine Van Andle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry's name may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hobart, 654 East 4th Street, Hobart, IN 46342.

A funeral service for Jerry will take place Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Rebecca Lynn Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, Arkansas. Visitation for Jerry will be held Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
