Jerry Wayne Waddell, age 74, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016. He was born on July 16, 1941 in Martwick County, KY to the late Richard and Leona Waddell. Jerry was a member of the Hobart Moose Club. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed bowling, gambling at the boats and listening to music. Most importantly he enjoyed his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his former wife of 19 years, Lucille Waddell; sons, Gerald (Donna) Waddell of St. Leonard, Maryland, Dennis (fiancé Laura Castillo)Waddell of Hobart; daughters, Susan (Terry) Davenport of Valparaiso, Jennifer Guerrero of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Dominic (Emily) Davenport, Adrianna Davenport, Lindsey Davenport, Alexis Davenport, Zachary Davenport, Elizabeth Davenport, Jeremy Waddell, Adrian Guerrero, Elizabeth Guerrero, Jacqueline Guerrero, Cynthia Guerrero, Victoria Guerrero, Angelica Guerrero, Andrew Waddell, Andrea Waddell, Alyssa Waddell; great grandchildren, Layliana Guerrero, Natalia Guerrero, Sebastian Gonzalez, Ava and Bre Davenport; god daughter, Kimberly O'Donoghue; brothers, Joe (Patricia) Waddell of Surprise, AZ, Larry (Mary) Waddell of Demottee,IN, Darrell (Geraldine) Waddell of Portage, Randy (Martha) Waddell of Hobart; sister in law, Barbara Waddell.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Leona Waddell; twin sister, Judith Cotten; brothers, Richard and Danny Waddell.
A funeral service for Jerry will take place Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 4:30 pm at the funeral home.
