Jessie R. Long

Jessie R. Long, age 86, of Hobart passed away Friday, May 9, 2025. He was born on January 25, 1939, in Tampa, Florida to the late Marion and Nancy Ellamae (Johnson) Long. Jessie had a passion for traveling the country and owned and operated his own Semi Tractor Trailer. He believed in family. His greatest joy in life was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and he felt blessed to be able to watch them grow up. He was an avid dog-person who loved country music and watching old westerns in his free time. Jessie will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his son, Richard (Lucy) Long; daughters, Tina Long, Leeanne (Joseph) Juszczak; brother, Jimmy Long; and sister, Nancy (Junior) Kirk; brother-in-law, Aaron (Faye) Williams; sister-in-law, Marsha (Tom) Tan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grandchildren, Ricky (Osyana) Long, Cody (Taylor) Long, Alexus (Summer) Long, Jessie Berrocal, John Navarro, Jocelyn Cooper, Jackie Cooper, Jennifer Cooper, David (Abby) Aponte, Samantha (Dalton) Stewart, Jose Valladolid, Jonathan (Emily) Petursson, Wendy (D.J.) Bailey, Tony (Melissa) Rivera, Jason (Jacqueline) Rivera, Virginia Garland, Junior Garland, Telisha Congress, Rachel Villareal, Rene Villareal, Ashley Villareal; Tai'jona Lenoir, 49 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Muriel Long- Berry; his second wife, Kathleen B. Long; his daughters, Barbara Rivera, Donna Long, Roxanne Long; brothers, Joe Long, Albert "PeeWee" Long; sisters, Carol Beatty and Marian Barbara (Bobbi) Long.

Visitation for Jessie will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
