Jill Diane Carnahan (nee Diaz), age 57, of Portage, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Aperion Care in Valparaiso. She was born in Gary, Indiana on May 19, 1960.

Jill is survived by her mother, Shirley Karageorge; loving husband of 40 years, Rodney E. Carnahan; son, Rodney S. (Amber) Carnahan; daughter, Brandi (Darrell) Fasel; grandchildren, Kalon, Monika, Derek, Tinley, Dominic; sister, Susan (Roger) Davidson; brother, Jeff Diaz; and niece and nephews, Adam, Matthew, Shane, Jesse.

She was preceded in death by her father, John (Diane) Diaz and step father, Emanuel Karageorge.

We called her daughter, wife, ma, Nana, friend, Jill. She is so much more than her names.

As if she was crafted from the sun itself, Jill radiated with an energy that affected everyone.

Jill spent her time wisely as she loved her family fiercely. Ample hours were spent outside

enjoying nature. She earned her Bachelor degree and served her community as a teacher.

Her laugh was beyond contagious as she sought out joy and happiness for herself and others.

Her parents proud, her husband devoted, her children and grandchildren loved, a vivacious spirit

in every life, this one and the next. Now sitting on a beach with family by her side, her painted

toes in the sand she watches, smiles and laughs.
