Jim Sonntag, 62, of Portage, Indiana passed away suddenly on an annual fishing trip in Dryden, Ontario, Canada.  He was born August 15, 1961, in Crown Point, Indiana to the late Richard and Georgia Sonntag.

Jim grew up in Crown Point and graduated from Crown Point High School.  He married Robin (Nee: Wilson) on December 31, 2005, and they blended their families.  Jim was an avid outdoorsman who not only enjoyed fishing but hunting and camping as well.  He was also a big sports fan, always cheering for the White Sox and Bears, and watching NASCAR.  Jim was a family man who adored his children and grandchildren.  The world has lost an amazing man, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife, Robin, children, JD (Shelby) Sonntag, Heather Sonntag, Jennifer Sonntag, Allisha (Chance) Czarnecki, Randi (Greg) Whitmer, and Jason Sonntag; grandchildren, Kylee, Kelsie, Leland, Kyan, Maverick, Mackenzie, Audrey, and Kora; and many good friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in passing by his sister, Debra Howard.
