JIMMY K. BALL, age 74, of Portage, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at Saint Mary Medical Center. He was born on September 27, 1939 to the late James and Cora Ball. He was a 48-year resident of Portage. Jimmy retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist of South Haven. Jimmy enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his family.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kay (nee Lowe); 2 daughters, Regina Ball of Portage and Becky (James) Cubbison of South Haven; 5 grandchildren, Brittany, Shauna, and Kayla Ball and Zachariah and Jacob Cubbison; 1 great grandchild, Zayden Smith; 2 brothers, Leon Ball of TX and Danny Ball of Valparaiso; 2 sisters, Barbara Polk of Valparaiso and Sandra (Don) Case of Allegan, MI; other loving family and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Oliver and Kenneth Ball.
A funeral service for Jimmy will be Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church of South Haven, 760 N. McCool Rd., with Rev. John C. Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
