Jimmy Edward Childers

Jimmy Edward Childers "Eddie", age 61 of Portage passed away Thursday October 26, 2023.  Eddie was born August 18, 1962, in Hammond, Indiana to the late Alvin and Barbara (Hunnicutt) Childers. He worked for over twenty years at Cleveland Cliffs Steel Mill. Eddie was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps.  He never drove anything but a Jeep and was an avid Notre Dame Football Fan.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Melisa Childers; Son, Brandon Childers; granddaughter, Allie Elizabeth-Kaye Childers; brothers, Alvin (Theresa) Childers, Tom (Sue) Childers, Stanley (Laura) Childers, and Danny (Rebecca) Childers; sisters, Candy (Jason) Maxwell, and Karen (Dave) Kleinman; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Domenick Ray Childers; and brother, Bobby Childers.

Eddie requested to be cremated with no attended services.
