Joan Elaine (Nee Dunn) Villeneuve

Joan Elaine Villeneuve, age 77, of Hobart, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017. Joan was born on January 31st, 1939 in Lemont, Illinois to her late parents, John Dunn and Anna Kalinoski. On May 12, 1956, Joan married her life partner, Gary Villeneuve, who survives. Joan is also survived by her 5 loving children, Gareth Villeneuve of Abilene, Texas, Mark (Gina) Villeneuve of Woodstock, Illinois, Jeffrey (Melissa) Villeneuve of St. John, Indiana, Deborah (Steve) Johnson of Chesterton, Indiana, Denise (Dean) Wolfe of Tampa, Florida. Also her brother, Bob (Joyce) Vittetoe of Portage, Indiana and sisters, Kay (Pastor Bob) Lothenore of Anna, Texas, and Janet Webb of Valparaiso. Joan will be greatly missed by her 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved so much.

Joan attended Tolleston High School, where she made so many lifetime friendships among her classmates such as Sonja, Ursula, Pat and Arlene, the cabin girls. She leaves to cherish her memory a great number of true friends; among them are Bonnie, Ilse, and Mary Lou. Joan was a caregiver to many and a good friend to all who knew her. Joan worked at Mike's Sporting Goods in Michigan City for 8 years and would also want to say good bye to all the ladies at the Andrean High School cafeteria where she worked for ten years.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A memorial service will begin Saturday at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Lothenore officiating. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
