Joanne J. Moldovan

Joanne J. (nee Underwood) Moldovan, age 82, of Gary, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. She was born on December 9, 1933 in Aurora, Kansas to the late Charles and Marcelline Underwood. On June, 14, 1953, she married the love of her life, John E. Moldovan, who preceded her in death. In her free time, Joanne enjoyed playing video games, trolling facebook, playing bingo, fishing, gardening and sunbathing. She could always be found in the back yard on a sunny day. Above all, Joanne cherished the time she spent with her family. She will always be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to those who love her.

Joanne is survived by her sons, Michael Moldovan, John C. Moldovan; daughters, Cherie Janis, Debbie (Jody) Soliday, Linda (James) Bottos; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Underwood, Norman (Judy) Underwood, Leland (Linda) Underwood, Larry (Judy) Underwood; sister, Maxine (Leo) Galka.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John E. Moldovan; son, Kenneth Moldovan; son in law, John Janis; brothers, Loren "Bud" Underwood, Don Underwood; sisters, Jeannie Goldsmith, Sue Harms; sister in laws, Genevieve Underwood and Lois Underwood.

A funeral service for Joanne will take place Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN. Cremation will follow services.
