Joanne C. Troutman

Joanne Catherine Troutman (nee Fitzsimmons), age 86, of Hobart passed away Monday, December 18, 2023. She was born on October 22, 1937, in Gary, Indiana to the late James and Mary Fitzsimmons. On May 25, 1957, she married Terry Troutman and together they raised four children. She was a kind and loving person who truly never met a stranger. Her kind nature made her a fantastic wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. When their children were small, she enjoyed traveling and making memories with them in the confined space of the family cramper. Joanne volunteered her time at the library at St. Bridget School and acted as den mother for the Cub Scouts.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Terry Troutman; children, Deborah (Curtis) Smith, David (Mary) Troutman, Keith (Cheryl) Troutman, Beth (Gerald) Parton; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Fitzsimmons; grandson, Sam Troutman; and four sisters, Mary Wilson, Kathleen Campman, Audrey Lundy, Lorraine Wallace. Visitation for Joanne will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, December 22, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Bridget Catholic Church with prayers starting at the funeral home at 9:30 am.
