Joe W. Holley, age 81, of Cedar Lake passed away Tuesday October 23, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born January 13, 1931 in Metropolis, Illinois to the late Joseph and Ora (Henson) Holley. He married Bobbie Couch on May 12, 1975 in Crown Point, Indiana. Joe was a retiree from the Laborers International Union of North America Local #41. He was a member of the Crown Point Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved music, played guitar and was the lead singer of the "Holley's Mill" Country and Western Band.
He is survived by his loving wife Bobbie Holley of Cedar Lake; six children Jennifer (John) Kitchen of Crown Point, Cindy (Bob) Sims of Lake Station, Debbie (David Johnson) Neumeyer of Alabama, Joe A. (Sharon) Holley of Kentucky, Donna (Tom) McCann of Hebron and Tina McGuffee of Tennessee; one sister Marthanell Sullivan of North Carolina, twenty three grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Dennis Hall, one grandson Joey Bradley, eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Joe will be 11 a.m. Saturday October 27, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St., Winfield/Crown Point, 46307. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Visitation is Friday October 26, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel.
