Joe M. Wilson, age 90 of Hobart passed away Friday, June 7, 2013. He was born on January 8, 1923 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Joe and Dovie Lue Wilson. He served his country in World War II and was a POW in Germany. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Joe worked at the Ford Stamping Plant as a Major Press Operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by 2 sons, Charles M. (Vicki) Wilson of Hobart, IN; David W. (Cindy) Roach of Michigan; 3 daughters, Clara Ann Penrose of Valparaiso, IN; Debra Enrico of Hobart, IN; Cheryle Roach of Valparaiso, IN; 2 brothers, William (Virginia) Wilson of Hobart, IN; Herman Wilson of Valparaiso, IN; 1 sister, Maude Goodson of Aliceville, AL; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie M. Wilson, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services are Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Dave Felton officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
