John "Butch" David Kroledge

John David Kroledge "Butch", age 74, of Gary and formerly of Lake Station passed away Sunday June 5, 2022, at the University of Illinois Hospital at Chicago.  He was born November 15, 1947, in Gary, Indiana to the late John L. and Greta (Grant) Kroledge.  John was a Welder/Fabricator and an Operating Engineer prior to retiring from Consolidated Fabrication Corporation.  He had a love of Coon Hunting and Fishing. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, horses, and working on his cars.

John is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Carolyn Kroledge; four children, Elisha (Randy) Wrolen of Vincennes, Virginia (Gareth) Robertson of Lake Station, Rebecca (Steven Bell) Kroledge of Vincennes, and Joseph Kroledge of Portage; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters, Gilbert (Martha) Kroledge, Greta Johnson, Tony (Norma Jean) Kroledge, Chuck Kroledge, and Shirley McCraney; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends that he loved as family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John David Kroledge, Jr. known as Buck; and three brothers and sisters, Jackie, Marge, and Frank.

Funeral Services for John will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday June 11, 2022, at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart. Visitation will from 2:00-8:00 pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
