John Michael Gallagher

John Michael Gallagher, age 74, of Portage passed away Saturday March 7, 2026, at his home with his family in attendance. John was born January 5, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late John Thomas and Anna Marie (Wolfe) Gallagher. John was a Jack of all trades and had many jobs throughout his life. He retired from Speedway Gas Stations where he worked as an assistant manager. John loved to read, sing and dance. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagle’s Fan.

John is survived by his wife, Connie Gallagher of Portage; seven children, Catherine (Jorge) Pomales of Hobart, Anastasia Donnelly of LaPorte, Luciana (Bob) Bonevolento of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Athena (Bill) Auksel of Three Rivers, Michigan, Jose Rivera of LaPorte, Ashley Cox of Fayettesville, Arkansas, and Alyson (Malachi) DeArmond of Rensselear; thirteen Grandchildren; one great grandson; Seven brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren.

John wished to be cremated with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date. Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue was entrusted with Johns services.
