John Gauder, Jr., 90, of Hobart, Indiana passed away on May 25, 2014.

He is survived by his wife Marlin (Pope), daughter Nancy Gauder, son John (Tami) Gauder, III , daughter-in-law Barbara Gauder, sisters Pauline (Wenzel) Augustian, Suzanne (Robert) Bailey, Beth (Alden) Kunnemann, sister-in-law Shirley (Bill) Hahn, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his son Kurt Gauder, parents John and Mary Gauder, brother Joseph (Mildred) Gauder, sisters Marie (Gordon) Foster, Amelia (Michael) Benko, Ruth (James) Staton and brother-in-law Kenneth Pope. A special thank you to his loving caregivers and Marcia (Rod) Ruess and family.

John is a graduate of Roosevelt High School, East Chicago, IN and Purdue University, Lafayette, IN. He is a former Hobart City Councilman, a WWII Vet, member of American Legion Post 454, VFW Post 5365 and the Phi Delts. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hobart, IN.

Visitation from 3pm – 8pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Rd Hobart, IN. Funeral Service at Rees Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29 at 10am.
