Obituary
JOHN J. KERR, age 98, of Valparaiso, and formerly a longtime Hobart resident, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Porter Regional Hospital. John was born on January 26, 1917 in Queens, NY. He worked as a roller at US Steel and retired in 1970. John was an active member of Hobart First Christian Church. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Christina Kerr; wife, Helen; son, James David Kerr, and grandson, James David Kerr II.
John is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Ron) Wackett; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Kerr; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
