John E. Larkin

John E. Larkin, age 86, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

John was born on August 28, 1936 in Pontiac, IL.  He worked as a Jeweler and as a Computer Technician.  John married the love of his life, Alicia Wolak, on June 17, 1989 and enjoyed 33 years together.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Station.

John was a very talented person and a natural artist.  He was a drawer and a cartoon artist. These talents led to the creative endeavor as a jewelry maker, creating all sorts of beautiful pieces and a treasured wedding band for his wife Alicia.  He loved his dogs and his horses.  His devotion to Alicia and his family will be deeply missed.

John is survived by his wife: Alicia; children: Jennifer (Tobby) Schweizer, Catherine Shively, and Evan Larkin; grandchildren: Tayler and Colton Schweizer, Shanna Bixby, Amanda Shively, and Victor Larkin; and sister: Franya Szfranski.

John is preceded in death by his parents and his son: John Alan Larkin.

There are no funeral services scheduled at this time.  Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
