John W Marcrom, age 87, of Lake Station, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 11, 1930 in Coffee Co., Tennessee to the late Gordon and Orval Marcrom. He married the love of his life, Ann on March 22, 1964 in East Gary. John was retired from U.S Steel where he worked as a pipefitter and the owner of East Gary Trucking. John was a member and past Master of Masonic Lodge, Dunes Lodge #741, he was also a member of; Orak Shrine, Elbert H. Gary, Commander NO. 7 Knights Templar and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Olive Chapter #396. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Station. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

John is survived by his wife, Ann Marcrom of Lake Station; son, Ricky (Stephanie) Marcrom; two daughters, Shelly (Jim) Del Valle and Lynn Williams; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

John was preceded in death by his two sons, Clifton and Roger Marcrom; daughter, Tammy Marcrom; his parents and his two sisters, Gloria Race and Bobbie L. Marcrom.

Visitation for John will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 2:00- 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home-Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Daniel Gute officiating. Masonic service will be held at 7:00 pm. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
