John A. Perry Sr.

Age 87 of Portage passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Gary. John was born on August 17, 1936, to the late Willie and Carrie (nee Johns) Perry in Maben, Alabama.  John was an LTV retiree and proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He loved football, baseball, and horse racing. John attended church with his wife and son at The Church of Jesus Christ in Portage.

John is survived by his wife, Anne (Nee Oakley) Perry of Portage; three daughters, Pam Bourrell of Cedar Lake , Laura Karasoff of Valparaiso, and Martha Hedger of North Judson; son, John A. Perry Jr of Portage; along with 9 grandchildren and12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in passing by his siblings Carl, Calvin, Roy and Nancy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perry family to assist with funeral costs.
