John D. Sheppard, age 56, of Lake Station, IN, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. John was born on December 1,1966 in Gary, Indiana to the late John and Helen (nee Baker) Sheppard. He worked as a territory representative for Benjamin Moore. He married the love of his life, Janine (nee Ruzga) Sheppard, on October 3,2011.  John loved the White Sox, watching football, but most of all he enjoyed traveling with his loving wife, Janine. John is survived by his wife: Janine (nee Ruzga); two stepdaughters, Malorie (Meghan) Moose and Marissa (Jake) McNamara; granddaughter, Avery McNamara; two brothers, Wayne (Kathy) Joselyn and Ron (Donna) Joselyn and many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents: John and Helen Sheppard and niece, Jenny Joselyn. A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave. Lake Station. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Jones officiating also at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel. 219-962-1606 online condolences may be shared with Joh's family at www.reesfuneralhomes.com
