John Carter Sholey, affectionately known as Pops, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 7, 2024. He was born on February 25, 1946, in Winchester, Tennessee. Pops will always be remembered for his strong work ethic. He held many positions over the years and worked every day until he was hospitalized. He spent his happiest days fishing and listening to country music.

He is survived by his son, John W. (Kathy) Sholey; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Debra; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Sholey; second wife, Iona Faye Sholey; brother, Billy; and sister, Martha.
