John W Stalion
age 70, of Hobart passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Vibra Hospital in Crown Point. He was born on February 24, 1942 in Marion, Kentucky, the son of John and Kathryn (nee Beard) Stalion. John was a retired Cement Mason and a member of Local 692 since 1967 and was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church in Marion, Kentucky. He will be remembered as a loving, greathearted, special, brother, uncle and friend.
John is survived by 2brothers; James E Stalion of Portage and Jack L. Stalion of Hobart, 2 sisters; Virginia H. Ordway of Goodland, Indiana and Patricia K. (Paul) Zbyrowski of Hobart, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
John is pre ceded in death by his parents, brother-in –law, Hollis Ordway, 2 sisters-in-law; Mary and Karen Stalion and nephew, Douglas Ordway.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Rd. Hobart with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. The visitation for John will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2:00 -8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 219- 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com
