John M. "Whitey" Cisarik, age 57, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at Munster Community Hospital after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born on January 18, 1959 to John A. and Lucille (nee Depta) Cisarik. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, Miller Chapter, in Portage. John enjoyed golfing and camping with friends. He was an avid Nascar fan who spent his time riding four wheelers and snow mobiles. His grandchildren were the center of his world.

John is survived by his daughter, Britney (Joshua Copollo) Cisarik; mother Lucy Cisarik; father, John A. Cisarik; grandchildren, Tyler, Conner; sister, Kimberly Zakutansky; Nieces, Ashley and Shelby Zakutansky; aunt, Carol (Ray) House and beloved friends, John (Grace) Karageorge, Bill (Barb) Shukitis, James Davis, and Jeff Moore.

A Memorial Service for John will be Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Funeral Home.
