Johnnie Mae Cornett

Johnnie Mae Cornett, age 89, of Lake Station, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017. She was born on August 5, 1928 in Piney Grove, Kentucky. Johnnie will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and scrapbooking.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Lee Waddell, Michael Waddell; daughter, Arlene (John) Hochstettler; step daughters, Grace (Joseph) Pernick, Elizabeth (Skip) Nelson; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Ed" Cornett; brother, Ray Hall; sisters, Audrey Stultz and Beatrice Hinkle; stepson, Arthur Cornett.

A funeral service for Johnnie will take place Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
