Jorge A. Rocha, age 69, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 11, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1955, in East Chicago, Indiana to Jesus and Maria Rocha. Jorge retired from Inland Steel where he worked as a steelworker for 31 years. He dedicated his life to the service of others and will always be remembered for his generosity.  As a result of his belief that one should selflessly serve, Jorge was a member of Glen Park Masonic Lodge #732, Orak Shrine in Michigan City, Royal Order of Jesters Court #043, Order of Quetzalcoatl, and Great Lakes Shrine Association. He was past president of International Association of Shrine Motor Corps and an honorary member of Medinah Shrine.  His greatest joy in life was his family and he leaves them with a legacy of love.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Kaci) Rocha, Michael (Christina) Rocha; daughter, Nicole (Justin Atha) Rocha; grandchildren, Isabelle Atha, Abigail Atha, Isaac Rocha, Jonah Rocha, Caleb Rocha, Molly Rocha;  his mother, Maria Rocha; brothers, Fernando (Maria) Rocha, Luis (Brenda) Rocha, James Rocha; sisters, Terry Gomez, Dianna (Michael) Miller, Esther (Jerry) Baldazo; sister-in-law, Barbara Rocha; his former wife and dear friend, Lydia Rocha; many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Rocha in 2020; his brother, Gabriel Rocha; and his brother-in-law, Albert Gomez.

Visitation for Jorge will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A Masonic service will take place at 7:00 pm.  The funeral service for Jorge will take place Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
