Jose A. Herrera, age 42 of Hobart, IN, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015. He was born on November 9, 1972 in Cook County the son of Angel Herrera and Lilia Dominguez. Jose worked as a Laborer for Local 81. He will be remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.
Jose is survived by his mother, Lilia Dominguez of Lake Station; three sons, Miguel A (Melisa) Herrera of Hobart, Brandon Jose Herrera of Crown Point and Gabriel Herrera- Loza of Lake Station, two daughters, Ashley (Tennis) Halsey of Valparaiso and Erica Herrera of Hobart; four grandchildren, Kael, Kaleigh and Kyndall Halsey and Miguel A. Herrera Jr.; brother, Sergio Dominguez of Lake Station; two sisters, Claudia (Mike) Horan of West Lafayette, Amanda Herrera of Lake Station, numerous nieces nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Jose is preceded in death by his father, Angel A. Herrera and his son, Jose Angel Herrera Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Frances Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station, with Rev. David W. Kime officiating; with additional visitation from 9:30 until time of Mass burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
