Joseph G. "Joe" Castellanos, age 73, of Lake Station passed away Friday May 4, 2018 at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  Joe was born January 30, 1945 in La Palma, Michoacana, Mexico to Magdaleno and Raquel (Lara) Castellanos.  Joseph retired from G. W. Berkheimer where he worked as a truck driver.  He was the current Clerk-Treasurer of Lake Station.  He was a US Army veteran and member of Lake Station VFW Post #9323.  He was also a member of St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Watts) of Lake Station; his mother, Raquel Castellanos of Hobart; a daughter, Maria Alvarado of Lake Station; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Ricky and Juliana; three great grandchildren, Karley, Cecelia and Sebastan; several cousins; many nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father and one son, Joey Castellanos.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday May 8, 2018 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342 with Deacon Richard Huber officiating.  Cremation will follow.  Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
