Joseph R. Drasich, age 94, of Hobart passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 ,on the same day he wed his late beloved wife, Frieda (nee Bando) Drasich May 6, 1950. Joe was born April 26, 1923 in Frankfort, IL to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Eskra) Drasich. Joe was a retired Millwright and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. His favorite past-time was repairing watches and clocks. He enjoyed playing pool and golfing and was instrumental in improving the Billiard room at the Bonner Senior Center in Portage. He will be remembered as a strong, hardworking man and a devoted husband and father.
Joe is survived by two sons, Donald Drasich of Merrillville and David (Lora) Drasich of Cedar Lake; three daughters, Donna Drasich of Hobart, Janice (John) Rhynearson of Hobart and Joyce Montoleone of Kansas City, Mo; five grandchildren, John (Joell) Drasich, Shannon (Steve) Kelley, Joycie Drasich, Ashley Montoleone and Tiffany (Brandon) Halsey,three great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations in Joe's honor can be made to the Bonner Senior Center, 5800 Lexington Ave, Portage, Indiana 46368.
