Joseph J Franczak
passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Saint Mary's Medical Center. He was born on August 6, 1931 to the late Joseph and Helen Franczak in Gary, Indiana. Joseph proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He was a retired Dry Wall Finisher for Union Local 460 and a member of the American Legion Post 54. On October 31, 1975 Joseph married Mary Earls in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the Legion. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Joseph is survived by his family, wife; Mary (nee Earls) Franczak of Hobart, sons; Joseph (Shilo) Spurlock and Joseph (Patti) Franczak of Valparaiso, daughters; Rebecca Spurlock of Portage and Renee (Tim) Bonner of Hobart, grandchildren; Krystal (Scott) Taylor, Zak Spurlock, Jill (William) Hendricks , Graye (Elaine) Roberts, Colette Pivarrik, Samantha Franczak, Nathan Spurlock Ford, Natasha Spurlock, Alexis Spurlock and Catleen Spurlock great-grandchildren; Brooklyn, Ethan, and Karson Taylor, Emma, Cameron amd Riley Hendricks and Tyler and Brooke Roberts, brother; Michael Adamus of Florida and sisters; Mary Ann (George) Skundrich of Illinois and Kathy Drummin of Hobart and many other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Edwin Franczak, sisters Loraine Gilarski and Delores Molchan.
Funeral Services for Joseph will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Cremation will follow. Visitation will also be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 1:00-3:30pm also at Rees Funeral Home.
