Joseph Edwin Toscani

Joseph Edwin Toscani, age 76, of Porter, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017. He was born on July 25, 1941 in East Gary, Indiana to the late Nicholas and Ruth Toscani. On May 1, 1971, in Crown Point, Indiana he married Patricia Wheeler. Joe retired after 19 years from Industrial Steel Construction. He was a simple man who was dedicated to providing for his family. In his free time, he enjoyed card games, collecting coins, watching John Wayne movies and traveling. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Blackhawks. He fancied himself somewhat of a history buff. Above all, Joe loved his family and rejoiced at the birth of each of his grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Patricia (nee Wheeler) Toscani; son, Anthony (Jodi) Toscani; daughters, Jennifer (Greg) Potter, Laura (James) Cook; 9 grandchildren; brother, William (Anna) Toscani; sister, Marilyn Aimutis; sister-in-law, Jean Toscani; numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Ruth Toscani; brother, James Toscani; brother-in-law, Ronald Aimutis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family in Joe's name are preferred.

Visitation will take place Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
