Obituary

Josephine "Josie" Ennis (nee McGoldrick), age 86, of Lake Station passed away April 7, 2014. She was born August 4, 1927 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Stephen and Maria McGoldrick. Josephine married the love of her life, Bernard "Scottie" Ennis, on April 26, 1954 in Scotland. They moved to Lake Station (East Gary) in 1958. She was a devout member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time as a Eucharistic minister, served as a member and officer of the Ladies Sodality and sang in the choir.

She is survived by her son, Frank Ennis, brother, John McGoldrick., nieces Lynda (Ennis) Burville, Carol (McGoldrick) Shields, Frances (McGoldrick) McAveety, numerous in-laws , nieces and nephews, and dear friends Louis Schest, Wilma O'Reilly, Bernice Holland, Deborah (Henry) Mann, Regina (Haney) Zdravich and Larry Moore.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Ennis; daughter, Anne Marie Ennis; son, Stephen Ennis; brothers, Thomas Brady, Stephen McGoldrick, Pascal McGoldrick, Anthony McGoldrick and Francis McGoldrick; sisters, Mary Houston and Bridget Callaghan. Memorial contributions in Josephine's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N Michigan Ave Fl. 17 Chicago, IL 60601.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Clare Bridge, Valparaiso for taking such good care of Mom over the last few years.

Prayers will take place Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Rees Funeral Home Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue Lake Station followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam Street Lake Station with Father David Kime officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, April 11, 2014 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home with a rosary service at 1:30 PM.
