Joshua Aaron Young

Age 48, of Portage passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Northwest Health in Valparaiso. He was born the son of the late Kimberly (nee Young) Ostrander in Valparaiso, Indiana. Josh worked for Coil Plus in Plainfield, Illinois as an Operations manager. On June 2, 2001, Josh married the love of his life Christina Smith in Hobart, Indiana. He was known as a gentle giant with a heart of gold, who adored animals and enjoyed golfing, camping, and fishing. Josh was a devoted husband father and beamed with pride as a Papa.

Josh is survived by his wife of 24 years, Christina L. Young; two daughters Andrinna Flinchum and Brooklyn Young; grandchild, Karou Webber; brother, Jarad Young; sister, Megan Pantalion; mother in law, Alice Smith; sisters-in-law, Donna (Don) Hale and Tammy (Michael) Vargo; brother-in-law, Justin (Heather) Smith; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Ostrander, father-in-law, Sidney Smith and his furry companion Kaia.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368.
