Joyce M. Seward, age 71, of Hobart passed away Tuesday May 21, 2013 at her home. Joyce was born December 3, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Andrew and Martha (Cummings) Seward. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and companion. Joyce loved knitting, watching old television programs and listening to music. She was a member of the Black Oak Baptist Church.
Joyce is survived by her longtime companion Bradley J. Curtis; her two daughters Margaret and Melissa Hack both of Hobart; her six grandchildren Melissa Stephens, April Evanauskas, Martha Evanauskas, Kevin Smith, Lindsey Evanauskas and Margaret Evanauskas; her two great grandchildren Noah Dillon and Autumn Luttrell; her three brothers Butch (Judy) Seward of Louisville, KY, David Seward of Charlestown, IN and Richard Cianci; her sister Mary (Terry) Koselke of Lake Station; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Andrew Seward, mother Martha Cianci, two brothers Billy Seward and Ronnie Cianci.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Pastor Robert Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
