JOYCE E. STANFIELD, age 79, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Joyce was born to George and Esther Ramsay on July 3, 1931 in Gary, Indiana. She was a lifetime Hobart resident and a 1949 graduate of Hobart High School. Joyce married William Stanfield on July 6, 1950 and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. When she left, she took our hearts with her.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bill; sons, Bill (Diane) Stanfield of Somerville, AL, Tom (Renee) Stanfield of Hobart, David (Ronalynn) Stanfield of Portage; daughters, Kathi (Darryl Watson) Stefanich of Lake Station, Shari Stanfield of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Jenifer (Chuck) Komosa, Joe (Katie) Stefanich, Alisha Compoc, Shandra (Justin) Herrberg, Katie Stanfield, Kristie Stanfield and Lindsey Watson; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Verna Shaw, Phyllis McDonald , Beverly Fitzgerald; brother, Bob Ramsay; other loving family and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don and George Ramsay; sister, Esther Bivens.

Memorial contributions are preferred to VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.
