Juana D. Estrada (nee Dianda) age 97, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020. She was born on December 22, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Filomen and Angela Dianda. As a child, Juana's family moved to Chicago where she was raised along with ten brothers and sisters in South Deering. In February of 1946, she married Mateo Estrada, who preceded her in death in 1968. Juana was the matriarch that created five generations of a strong, hardworking family. She was a very proud woman who never asked anyone for anything. The adjectives that would best describe her are sophisticated and classy. Juana will always be remembered for her savvy fashion sense.

She is survived by her daughter, Delphine Placencia; son, Anthony (Evelyn) Estrada; grandchildren, Victoria (Michael) Stone, Eric (Patricia Franco) Estrada, Jessica (Tom) McClymont, Jennifer Estrada; great grandchildren, David Vargas, Vanessa Vargas, David Cerros, Steven Cerros, Monica Cerros, Julian Estrada, Molly McClymont; great great grandchildren, Tatiana Arellano, Ariel Vargas, Santino Vargas; and sister, Mary Lou (Eusebio) Reyes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mateo Estrada; siblings, Phil (Rose) Dianda, Jessie (Emily) Dianda, Genevieve Dianda, Guadalupe (Peter) Onate, Teresa (Carmen) Rios, Santos (Salvador) Fernandez, Consuelo (Damacio) Carrizales, and Conception (David) Ferreira.
