JUANITA L. (RAWDON) SCHAU, age 71, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Saint Mary Medical Center. Juanita was born on April 1, 1939 in Dyer County, TN to Alta and Curtis Maupin. Juanita graduated from IUN and then earned her masters in education. She was a dedicated schoolteacher. She had a great love for all children and a special gift for teaching. She taught for 27 years and retired from the Lake Station Community Schools in 2003. Juanita was a devout Christian and a member of the Hilltop Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was lovingly known as "Nita".

Juanita is survived by her husband, Ronald; 2 sons, Charles L. (Sandra) Rawdon, David L. Rawdon ; 4 stepchildren, Ronald D. Schau, Scott (Hollie) Schau, Shari Schau and Taryn Manahan; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way; 5 brothers, Ralph Maupin, Larry (Susan) Maupin, Marvin (Brenda) Maupin, Ronald Maupin, Gary (Vicki) Maupin; 1 sister, Nadine (Homer) Ables; nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Billy Rawdon; her parents, Curtis and Alta Maupin; brother, Lindell Maupin.

A funeral service for Juanita will be Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with her brother, Marvin Maupin officiating.
