Judith Connell

Judith Connell, age 64 of Hobart, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024. She was born on October 18th, 1959, in Gary, Indiana to Lawrence and Margaret Connell.

Judy was currently employed at Liberty Elementary School as the lunch supervisor where she was loved by her "kids." Also currently employed by her church, Augustana Lutheran where she was admired for her dedication and humor. Former employers were Florida Palm-Aire Resorts and Condominiums, Pompano Masonry and VOA in Chicago, Illinois. She was also employed by Pompano Harness Track as a part-time job for many years. Judy was fiercely loyal to her family. Her greatest blessing in life was her precious daughter, Mya Marie.

She is survived by her daughter, Mya Connell, sisters, Kathleen (David) Holland, Cindy Kenney, Eileen (Bill) Grisanti, and sister-in-law, Janet Connell.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Margaret Connell,  four brothers, Timothy Connell, Michael Connell, Patrick Connell, Terence Connell, nephew, Michael Connell, and former husband and good friend, Mike Wheele.

Memorial contributions in Judy's honor may be made to the family for the benefit of Mya. Please make checks payable to Kathy Holland.

Visitation for Judy will be held Friday, June 28th, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
