JUDITH M. HARTFORD, age 72, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at VNA Hospice of Porter County, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30, 1941 in Portland Maine. Judy married Kenneth Hartford on February 18, 1960 at St. Luke's in Gary. She had recently been attending the Hobart Church of the Nazarene. Judy was a member of the PRA and a Friend of Bill W. She was a loving grandmother and her grandchildren meant the world to her. Judy will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth; 2 children, David (Tami) Hartford of Chesterton and Marie (Steve) Johnson of Woodridge, IL; 4 grandchildren, Nicole and Jay Hartford and Ashley and Ryan Johnson; sister, Pat (Jim) Schmitt of Valparaiso.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Seay; and sister, Sandra Young.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Visitation for Judy will be Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 Noon at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W.
