JUDITH KAY HEIN, (nee, NORMAN), age 70, of Leroy, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 19, 2017 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 9, 1946, in Gary, and then moved to Lake Station and attended River Forest High School. She graduated in 1965 and remained active on class reunion committees.
She is survived by her spouse of 45 years, Lavern "Babe" Hein; son, Kevin E. Hein (daughter, Evylynn), Roselawn, IN; daughter, Kimberly Tabor, Johnson City, TN; step daughter, Michelle Lea Bechard, Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Wanda (Joe) Norman McCluskey, San Diego, CA, Jean (Charles) Norman Stout, Lexington, KY; brother, Richard (Bernice) Norman, Lake Station; brother-in-law, Joseph G. Hein, Crown Point; special friends, Bennie and Linda Newcomb; many nieces, nephews, and other family.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Marion W. and Bertha (nee Grinder) Norman.
Judith worked at Bell Telephone Co., Consolidated Book Publishing Co., Avon Products, Inc., US Steel Sheet and Tin Medical Dept. She enjoyed country living, gardening, bible studies with church friends and Girl Scouts.
There will be a funeral service for Judith on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Four Seasons, 9100 E. 109th Ave., Crown Point. Family burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery following the luncheon.
