JUDITH ANN HUBER, age 74, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Judy was born to the late Walter and Rosemarie Bovyn on November 14, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. She married Richard William Huber on September 3, 1960 in St. Louis. Judy and Richard have been residents of Portage for the last 41 years. She was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church where she was very active and past president of the Altar and Rosary Sodality, served on the Pastoral Council and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved cooking and caring for her family.
Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Deacon Richard Huber; 4 sons, James (Susan) of Mesa, AZ; Fr. Kevin of Michigan City, Paul (Laura) and Brian (Nicolette) all of Portage; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Jacquelynn, Timothy, Nicholas, Joseph, and Daniel; 2 sisters, Jackie Donaldson of Slidell, LA and Jamie (John) Schwarz of Oakville, MO; brother-in-law, George Garger of St. Charles, MO; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Garger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to the Nativity Church Endowment Fund.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Judy will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage with Rev. Kevin Huber presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Church beginning with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel handling arrangements.
