Judith "Judy" O. Land (nee Williamson), age 83, of Portage, IN and formerly of Gary, IN, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022.

Judy was born on June 12, 1939 in Gary, IN to the late Elmer and Jean (nee Wylie) Williamson.  She was a graduate of Emerson High School, Class of 1957.  Judy married the love of her life, Kenneth "Ken" Land in 1960 and spent 58 loving years together until his passing in 2018.  She was a devoted homemaker and worked for several years as a crossing guard for Myers and Fegley Schools while her children were in school.

Judy enjoyed bowling in leagues for 37 years with her husband and family.  She was a voracious reader and loved mystery novels, her favorite authors being Danielle Steele, James Paterson, and Fern Michaels.  She loved Murder She Wrote and watching the gameshow network, especially Jeopardy with Alex Trebek.  Judy crocheted afghans and made a quilt or two.  She loved Christmas and baked delicious cookies for the season.  Judy loved to fish with her husband, Ken. As long as he would clean them, she would cook them! She was an excellent cook.  Judy always took care of others and had love of dogs.  She was a family person and always shared stories from her life.  She was truly the best mom, grandma, great-grandma and will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to know her.

Judy is survived by her children: Lori Land, Kristy (Brian) Timm, and James (David Brotherton) Land; grandchildren: Cory Land, Nicole (Matthew) Tolman, Megan (Joshua) Kuehl, and Sabrina Faught; 9 great-grandchildren; sister: Nancy (Nathan) Hunt; sister-in-law: Marilyn Williamson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friend since junior high school: Carol Altese.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband; Ken: parents: Elmer and Jean; and brother: Bill Williamson.

Per Judy's wishes, there are no funeral services.  Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
