Judith Ann "Judy" Studer (nee McMillan), age 86, of Portage, IN and formerly of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, January 8, 2023. Judy was born on April 4, 1936, in Hammond, IN to the late Howard and Mary (nee Hoyt) McMillan.  She was a graduate of Horace Mann High School.  Judy married the love of her life, Vincent "Vince" Studer on August 16, 1958, and spent 38 loving years together until his passing in 1996. Judy was the best devoted homemaker who cared for not only her eight children, but all children or people who straggled along.  She was a kind and generous soul who always pulled from her own pockets for others.  Judy saw the good in everyone and was very encouraging.  She was a devout member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church.  Judy was truly a mother to all she encountered.  She was one who enjoyed being in the background and lifting everyone else up to achieve their dreams.  In her quiet moments, Judy loved to watch the Game Show Network, Court TV, and her favorite show of all time- The Andy Griffith Show.  Judy, or "Granny" or "GG" as she was best known, was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and even great-great-grandmother who will be missed by generations and all who were blessed to know her. Judy is survived by her eight children: Marcia (Robert) Blackmon, Cynthia (Darrell) Gray, Julie (Owen) Compton, Diane (Dave) Gilbert, Amy Nystrom, Carolyn Studer, Lori (Robert) Murray, and Jeff Studer; 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; special son-in-law: Dave Conroy, daughter-in-heart: Debbie Young; and loving dogs: Jani and Shiloh. Judy is preceded in death by her husband: Vince; parents: Howard and Mary; step-mother: Betty McMillan; dear sister: Mary Ruth McMillan; great-grandson, Jacob Lamb and special friend, Gene Gilbert;  an infant son, a miscarried child, and her beloved dog and companion: Blaze. Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave., Portage) from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 13, 2023.  A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from Rees Olson Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Darryl Dorton officiating.  At Rest beside her beloved husband at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judy's name may be made to the Michael J.
