JULIA A. WARWICK, age 74, of New Chicago, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Julie had been a longtime New Chicago resident where she was very active as the bookkeeper and Office Manager for the Town of New Chicago. She was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Lake City, TN and also very involved and faithful to her Church, The First Baptist Church of New Chicago where she was the church organist for over 40 years, choir director and taught Sunday School. Julie enjoyed sewing, crocheting and counted cross-stitch.
She is survived by her loving family of 2 children: Betsy (Thomas) Shadley of Valparaiso, Tony (Sandie) Warwick of Boyce, Louisiana, 4 grandchildren; Benjamin Shadley, Aubrey (Justin) Coody, Gage Warwick and Samantha Warwick, brother, Toby Ridenour of Clinton, TN and 2 sisters, Betty Thompson of Hobart and Judy (James) Stone, also of Hobart. Her husband, James L. "Bud" Warwick, preceded her in death in 1994.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10 am at the First Baptist Church of New Chicago, 401 Huber Blvd, with Pastors Bill Barrow and Don Good officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart.
