Julianna “Julie” Fitzgerald, age 71, of Westville, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was born September 21, 1955, in Gary, Indiana to the late Raymond and Hilda “Connie” (Leath) Bliss.

Julianna is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Grover “Skip” of Westville, two daughters, Melissa (Rich) Harley of Portage, and Rachel Woodside of La Porte, a grandson Jeremy Harley of Holly Springs, N.C.; two brothers, Roy (Cheryl) Leath of Portage, and Eric (Jerri) Bliss of Chesterton; a sister, Laura Ancell of Portage; two brothers-in-law, Jim Yetsko, and Brian Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Pamela Yetsko, a sister-in-law, Terry Gilbert, and a niece, Sandra Kraft.

Julie was a faithful member of Portage Bible Church. She held Jesus close to her heart and her family is certain she heard the words “Well done, good and faithful servant” when she opened her eyes in the presence of the Lord. Julie was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed sewing, decorating her front porch, and most of all spending time with her family. Her unwavering love for her family will always be remembered and cherished. We are grateful for the time we had with her and the countless memories she gave us, we will miss her dearly.

Visitation for Julie will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Portage Bible Church, 2748 Willowdale Road, Portage, IN 46368. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm with Pastor Tracy McConnell and Pastor Joel Gilbert Officiating. A luncheon will be held at the church from 12:45 pm to 2 pm. Burial will follow in Angelcrest Cemetery in Valparaiso.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Portage Bible Church.
