JUSTIN DANIEL KIRK, age 29, of Portage, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012. Justin was born on August 1, 1982 and was a lifetime area resident. He loved music and playing the guitar. Justin was very intelligent and loved history and reading. He will be remembered as a kind and loving soul.

He is survived by his son, Justin Daniel Kirk, II; mother and father, Suzane Rooksby and Phillip Barragan of Portage; father, Tony Kirk of Hobart; 2 brothers, Joshua (Catie) Barragan and Zachary Barragan of Portage; 2 sisters, Madison Barragan of Portage and Tabitha Kirk of Hobart; 2 step brothers, Brandon (Tara) Barragan of FL and Brent Gardner of Schererville; grandmothers, Lorraine Parker of Portage and Agnes Kirk of Hobart; grandparents, Frank and Judy Barragan of Portage; grandfather, Charles Kirk of Hobart; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other loving family and friends.

Justin was preceded in death by his sister, Toni Kirk; and grandfather, Joseph Parker.

A funeral service for Justin will be Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, with Rev. Scott Jones officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation for Justin will be Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
